This is the only greasy bean I know with a brown speckled seed and it is also very late in maturity, making it perfect for abundant September pickings. Vines are very vigorous, outgrowing bean beetle chewing. Pods are very shiny and get lumpy with fat seeds and are tender and tasty when simmered slowly after removing strings. Hugely productive as late varieties often are, it would make a good dry bean too with the sheer volume of pods produced. This variety originated in Eastern Kentucky. Seeds produced in Morgantown, WV. 90-100 days from sowing to harvest. Germination 94% 12-3-2023.
