This tomato’s story is the classic one of a spare plant handed over the fence from a neighbor who likely got it the same way. I was told it is named ‘Big Red #1’, a somewhat nondescript name that does however describe it well. Fruits are huge, well over a pound, and borne on large tall plants. They stood up to diseases and rots fairly well. The variety is said to have originated in Romney, West Virginia, a town famous for peaches. I’m excited to offer this variety that may be available nowhere else. 78 days from transplant to harvest. Seeds produced in Morgantown, WV. Germination 99% 11-13-2023. 30 seeds
