If you’re looking for a large beefsteak-type tomato, this is a good one! Tomato varieties abound and some may not stand out, especially one with the generic label “large red” as part of the name. However, while family heirloom varieties often lack fancy names, they are adapted to local conditions, making them reliable and well worth growing. This variety was gifted to me by an acquaintance, Mark Sellaro, who grew it in West Virginia for many years. It produces very large red fruit with few blemishes and great flavor. Vines stand up well to disease and wet conditions. Ripens in late August, approximately 90 days from transplant to harvest. Seeds produced in Morgantown, WV. Germination 96% 12-11-2023. 30 seeds
