Spangler Heirloom Cornfield Bean (30 Seeds)

This is guaranteed to be the thickest bean pod you will ever grow! A breeze to pick, since just a few beans make a pot full. These hefty 6.5 in. pods are borne on very vigorous vines that bear late in the season. Pod require de-stringing but are completely tender and have an intense flavor that is sweet and delicious. They are so fleshy that the beans do not appear very lumpy, but should be picked after seeds have filled out inside. Snaps easily and great for canning. Also a heavy yielder of dry beans that cook up firm and meaty, but slightly bitter. This very rare heirloom is originally from West Virginia and is somewhat similar to ‘Turkey Craw’ and ‘Logan Giant’, but has larger pods than either.
