Name: Purple Pinkeye Cow Pea
Other common names include Purple Pinkeye Crowder Pea, Pinkeye Purple Hull Pea, and Southern Pea. The scientific name for this variety is Vigna Unguiculata. These peas feature dark purple pods with beige peas that have pink eyes. Plant the seeds outdoors after the frost or start them indoors a few weeks before the last frost. Expect a harvest in about 55 days. The plant grows to a height of 18-24 inches and should be spaced 3-6 inches apart. These peas thrive in full sun and prefer average soil and water conditions. Each pack contains 50 seeds. This variety is a semi-bush type, known for its superior taste, heavy yields, and disease resistance. Additionally, it has ornamental value with 6-7 inch pods that are easy to admire and harvest. The pods contain 8-10 peas each, which can be enjoyed fresh, dried, canned, or frozen.
Materials: Seeds are packaged in a ziplock poly bag and labeled with a color photo, plant statistics, and planting instructions.
