Other: Tohya is an heirloom determinate soybean that is great for edamame. Each pod contains 3 large, fat, round seeds. The beans boast a delicious buttery flavor comparable to Butterbeans but with a better texture. The bean pods grow in clusters, which facilitates easy harvesting. Ideal for northern climates with shorter growing seasons due to its early maturity. The compact bushy plants are suitable for container growth. Besides serving as an excellent source of protein, soybeans help fix nitrogen levels in the soil, enhancing its fertility. They are naturally resistant to pests and diseases. The optimal growth temperature is between 60-70F. Soybeans can be planted in both spring and fall. They produce attractive flowers, and both the pods and stalks are fuzzy. The beans are versatile, used for making tofu, soy sauce, soy milk, miso, flour, and animal feed. Harvested soybeans can be stored by freezing, canning, or drying, maintaining their quality for up to 12 months.
