About this item:
Nigella Sativa seeds are small, black, and nearly round, distinguished from Bunium Persicum, another type called black cumin. The seeds are popularly used as a spice in Mediterranean, Indian, and Middle Eastern cuisines. They are dry roasted to enhance the flavor of curries, salads, vegetables, meats, poultry, and even breads like naan. Offering a unique spicy fruity flavor, they sometimes replace black cumin and are known for a taste that may remind one of nutmeg, exotic peppers, or slightly bitter flavors akin to onions and oregano with a hint of sweet fruit. Originating from Asia, Nigella Sativa is renowned not only for its culinary use but also for its various traditional uses and extensive list of benefits.
