Description: White flowering dogwood, also known as White Love Dogwood, American Dogwood or Florida Dogwood, is scientifically named Cornus Florida Southern. The ornamental tree features striking white flowers paired with red berries. The bloom period is from March to May, with the ornamental berries appearing from September into winter. This plant thrives in hardiness zones 5 to 9 and can achieve a height of 15 – 30 feet with a spacing of 20 – 30 feet between each plant. White flowering dogwood prefers sunlight to partial shade and grows well in average soil conditions, tolerating a variety of soil types, from rocky to clay, and moisture levels from moist to dry.
