This Kaffir lime tree starter plant will produce Citrus hystrix (makrut lime) fruit in approximately 3 years depending on the climate where you live. Each tree measures approximately 2” – 5″” from top of soil to the highest leaf. They can vary in size, but are quick growing, so even a smaller plant will be considerably larger in a couple of weeks.

It can be planted outside if you live in a warm, arid climate, a greenhouse, or indoors with appropriate UV sunlight bulbs, if you live in a colder climate, such as our beautiful Maine. These hardy trees will adapt to any surroundings.

The makrut lime fruit is native to tropical Southeast Asia and Southern China. Its fruit and leaves are used in Southeast Asian cuisine, and its essential oil is used in perfumery.
