Edible uses:
The young seedpods can be eaten raw or cooked. They are often added to salads, cooked as a vegetable, or included in soups and stews. The flavor is similar to asparagus. Only the very young pods, less than 25mm long, should be used as older pods turn fibrous. The seeds can be cooked and used like peas, and the roasted seeds can be used as a coffee substitute.
