The Cup & Saucer Vine is a very ornamental tropical beauty native to Mexico. The vines are very fast growing, and can be grown as an annual in cooler climates. They can grow as much as 20 – 25′ by fall. The Cup & Saucer Vine will bloom the first year from July – October, just 20 weeks after sowing, and bloom for 4 long months. The plants can also be grown in containers and overwintered in a greenhouse, where they will flower almost year-round. When in bloom, the vines become smothered in the showy 2″ bell shaped flowers it is named for. They make a wonderful cut flower, and the blooms will float on water.
