Florida Broadleaf Mustard is an heirloom variety known for its large, wide, fragrant leaves with a mild flavor. The leaves are smooth and have serrated edges. Mustard Greens can be used to enhance the flavor of various dishes and are suitable for steaming, boiling, canning, or freezing. Although it is a popular variety in the South, it grows well in northern climates too. This plant can be seeded in both spring and fall and will produce until a hard frost. It has an upright growing habit and is known for its high yield, making it an excellent choice for market gardens. For a milder flavor, perfect for salads, harvest the baby leaves when they are 4 – 5″ long, or allow the plant to mature and harvest the entire plant at once.
