Discover the Nannyberry Sweet Viburnum
The Nannyberry, or Sweet Viburnum, is a stunning addition to any garden. Known scientifically as Viburnum Lentago, this ornamental plant produces beautiful white flowers that bloom in the spring, attracting bees and butterflies. In the fall, these flowers transform into delicious blue-black berries that can be enjoyed fresh or used in cooking.
This shrub can grow to heights of 15 to 25 feet and thrives in USDA hardiness zones 2 to 8. It can be grown as a shrub or pruned into a small tree, providing versatility in your landscape design.
Planting Nannyberry seeds is easy! Sow the seeds in the fall and cold stratify for best results. These seeds prefer average soil and can flourish in both full sun and partial shade.
Besides their beauty and edible fruit, Nannyberry plants offer seasonal interest. The leaves change to stunning shades of yellow, orange, and red in the fall, making this plant a visual delight throughout the year.
With its attractive flowers and fruit, the Nannyberry is a favorite among birds and wildlife, making it a great choice for gardeners looking to enhance their local ecosystem.

I’m trying to figure out the best time to start these seeds, since they take a while for warm and cold stratification. I’m going to do it now! I don’t think that it really matters because it will take awhile anyway:)
