The Nannyberry, native to Eastern North America, is an ornamental plant known for its edible fruit. When unpruned, it maintains a shrub form, or it can be pruned into a single trunked tree. In spring, it produces 5″ flower clusters that attract bees and butterflies. By fall, these flowers turn into delicious purplish black berries that are sweet and juicy. These berries can be consumed fresh, used in jams, baked in pies, or dried for later use. Birds and other wildlife are also attracted to these berries. In the fall, the plant’s 4″ green leaves transform into stunning shades of yellow, orange, and deep reds, providing a colorful display even after the leaves drop, as the berries remain attached to the shrub.

I’m trying to figure out the best time to start these seeds, since they take a while for warm and cold stratification. I’m going to do it now! I don’t think that it really matters because it will take awhile anyway:)
