Other details:
Mikado is a California Poppy with two-tone flowers that exhibit a shimmery effect. Its petals are bright orange on the inside and scarlet red on the underside, which becomes visible when the flowers open in sunlight and close in darkness or cloudy weather. This feature allows both colors to be displayed. Ideal for attracting bees, butterflies, and birds, while being resistant to deer. The large, showy blooms ranging from 2 to 4 inches are excellent for cutting. The unique seed pods are suitable for dried arrangements or crafts. California Poppies can thrive in poor soil, tolerate heat, drought, and coastal conditions. They can bloom within 8 to 10 weeks from seeding and, while perennial primarily in warmer climates, can reseed themselves in cooler climates as well. California Poppy is a protected species with specific regulations.
