About this item:
The Oyama Magnolia is a large shrub to small tree native to Eastern Asia, known for its ornamental qualities and year-round interest. The fragrant cup-shaped flowers, up to 4 inches wide, boast showy bright pink stamens and have a prolonged bloom time of 4 – 8 weeks. Following the bloom, large pink seed pods, measuring up to 3 inches, develop. These pods resemble dragon fruit and open in the fall to reveal red seeds, similar to dogwood berries but less uniformly shaped. These seeds attract songbirds, game birds, squirrels, and other small animals, adding ecological value to the plant. In autumn, the foliage transitions to stunning shades of yellow to red, enhancing the visual appeal as the seed pods open.
