About this item:
The Sundew, scientifically known as Drosera, is a carnivorous plant with over 130 species found worldwide on every continent. This is unique for a carnivorous plant as most are located in only one or two regions due to specific climatic needs. Sundews are characterized by a gel-like substance at the tips of their tentacles that cover the leaves. This gel traps insects that venture too close, allowing the plant to consume them. The gel gives the plant a dew-covered appearance all day, particularly glistening under sunlight. Different varieties of the Sundew include temperate sundews with red tubular flowers covered in tentacles, pygymy sundews which are small red balls close to the ground surrounded by tentacles, and king sundews resembling a tall, thin cactus with red tentacles on all four sides.
