Both the shiny green foliage and flower spikes of the Gas Plant emit a lemony fragrance. The plant has a neat mounding habit and is resistant to deer. The flowers attract butterflies and are well-suited for use as cut or dried flowers. An interesting feature of the Gas Plant is its fragrant oils, which can be ignited without harming the plant.
Ginny –
The gas plant is an unusual plant that blooms with abundant beautiful flowers above attractive lemon scented foliage. I moved and had to start my flowerbeds from scratch. Most nurseries have never even heard of the gas plant, so I was so excited to find the seeds. The seeds are cold stratifying for a month, so I can’t attest to germination. Everything I have ordered from Seedville has preformed well.
